ISSEY MIYAKE ( men ) presented its AUTUMN WINTER 2010 Collection under the theme of "CAFÉ" on January 21.
On the 2nd of October 2009 ISSEY MIYAKE SPRING SUMMER 2010 collection presents NEWS MIX. The gathering of patterns and motifs from North, East, West, and South are arranged into textiles. Mixed styling is a characteristic of the show. Cheerful and colorful prints make an impression on the collection.
Since AUTUMN WINTER 2007, ISSEY MIYAKE has presented its men’s and women’s joint collections, applying the A-POC INSIDE theories. From this time on, the men’s show takes its own place.
Thus, on June 25th, ISSEY MIYAKE ( men ) presented its SPRING SUMMER 2010 Collection at the ISSEY MIYAKE flagship shop in Paris under the theme of “VERY VERY MOSAIC”.
The latest collection was inspired by the country and arts of Turkey, and expressed them brightly and energetically by featuring a variety of blues and the vivid pink and red of the country’s national flower, the tulip, as well as the patterns of traditional tiles, and also by reinterpreting the clothing of the sultans depicted in detailed contemporary drawings.

Until June 20th, the ISSEY MIYAKE flagship shop in Paris presents a new installation “Ballooon” created by Florence Doléac.

It is an inflatable salon where you can enjoy reading books with background music.
The installation consists of fishing nets containing multicolored balls of various sizes and put on carpets. Everyone is invited to come to find in these reliefs his/her own ideal position for rest. Thus when people settle themselves there in their own distinct posture, the whole work will be alive and provoke an impressive landscape.

From March 5 (Thu), the world ISSEY MIYAKE, which is representing this season, will be conveyed to the fullest extent with the installation of “JUNGLE PHONE.”
The exhibit "JUNGLE PHONE"* was created by Mr. Dai Fujiwara, Creative Director of ISSEY MIYAKE, and Mr. Keiji Koga, inventor of the "flower arrangement speaker," based on the concept of "device to telecommunicate with the jungle." It was held for the opening event of ISSEY MIYAKE’s flagship shop in Paris last October and became a hot topic. You can hear the leaves serving as speakers actually transmitting sounds, and experience the unique plan wherein the entire exhibition plays the same music. This project is “installation art.” Please immerse yourself in our installation art that is adding some glamour to this season’s ISSEY MIYAKE collection, which is expressing the real colors sampled from jungles in South America.

This speaker was invented by Mr. Koga, an engineer at an aviation company. It is a device which makes plants resonate sounds by inserting the end of the plant into the acoustic generator that is connected to the audio source.

ISSEY MIYAKE WATCH has launched new colors for its “TWELVE” and “TRAPEZOID” line designed by Naoto Fukasawa.
The “TWELVE” line is characterized by its simple, robust design. All numbers have been eliminated from the face, and in their place the crystal case itself has been cut into twelve sides. This new model with a light gray cowskin straps has now arrived for both the ladies and men’s lines.
The “TRAPEZOID” line, as its name suggests, has been inspired by the image of a rotating trapezoid shape. The numbers on the side of the bezel are elongated so as to be readable normally when viewed from the front. A new, masculine-looking model with a black face, bezel, and strap has now been added to our range of existing models.
A Christmas special web site now open under the name of "Love For 2007" until December 25, 2007.

On October 2nd, 2007, ISSEY MIYAKE just unveiled a collaboration between ISSEY MIYAKE’s Creative Director Dai Fujiwara and James Dyson during the Spring/Summer 2008 Paris Collections. This meeting of the two minds is sure to bring new light to the worlds of design and technology.
Innovative concepts and techniques for making clothes have been developed with the A-POC brand and its use of computers. From 2007 Autumn-Winter collection, A-POC will be implemented as a design solution, which we call A-POC INSIDE, in the three ISSEY MIYAKE brands (Women/Men/FÊTE). The new ISSEY MIYAKE team has launched its first collection adopting “A-POC” as a design solution. Accompanied with ISSEY MIYAKE men and ISSEY MIYAKE FÊTE, the show this season became very festive and delightful.
A denim group “A-POC GALAXY” is one of the strongest messages from the new ISSEY MIYAKE.
Under the new creative director Dai Fujiwara, the collection ISSEY MIYAKE Autumn/Winter 2007 was just unveiled in Paris, incorporating these three different lines: ISSEY MIYAKE women, ISSEY MIYAKE men and ISSEY MIYAKE FÊTE.
At the stage, a series of installation of “A-POC GALAXY” was set up representing our new concept “A-POC INSIDE”, which becomes common to the three lines’ sprit and technique.
* A-POC GALAXY is a new featured denim group for ISSEY MIYAKE men and women.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of "Japan Media Arts Festival" that has been operated by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, a commemorative exhibition "The Power of Expression, JAPAN" is now being held at the National Art Center, Tokyo, the new museum opened on January 21, 2007.
In this exhibition, "Queen Mamma" is exhibited with its 2 accompanying works. The exhibition explores the past, present and future media arts in Japan.
Queen Mamma was originally created as a collaborative project with Kenji Yanobe, one of the representative contemporary artists of Japan, celebrating the launch of the ISSEY MIYAKE FÊTE line in February 2002.
A new series “TRAPEZOID” designed by Naoto Fukasawa was released from ISSEY MIYAKE WATCH by Seiko Instruments Inc.
This name came from its unique shape from a lateral view. From that view, the tachymeter numbers look elongated while normal from an anterior view. Likewise, the thickness of the body is amazing in profile while the face, seen head-on, looks like a very average chronograph sport watch.
The new models came in 4 different colors.
ISSEY MIYAKE Madison Ave. store opened as a flagship shop in 1987. After 18 years at the previous location, the shop was re-opened on 802 Madison Avenue between 67th and 68th streets, which is located in 10 block south from the previous one.
Gordon Kipping designed the shop under the concept “to take off the border between streets and the shop”. The mirror in the back of the shop and the concrete floor, which looks as if it continues from sidewalk, makes customer feel more depth in the shop.
The size of the boutique is 2,600 sqft, which houses the ISSEY MIYAKE women and men collections, ISSEY MIYAKE FÊTE, fragrances and watches, as well as the “me” collection.
