* KIHACHIJO GALAXY_ISSEY MIYAKE *
“KIHACHIJO GALAXY” is a fabric that features indigo, a color synonymous with denim, and the radiant gold of summer sunshine. The blue represents the color of the ocean of Kuroshio near Hachijo-jima, where the designer actually went diving, from where the image is derived. The gold is the color of “Kihachijo,” which is the traditional silk of Hachijo-jima that is well known for its bright yellow color.
Values developed over many years, such as traditional colors and indigenous culture, and the sense of innovation and dynamism distinctive of the digital age…these two extreme values are interwoven in this “Kihachijo Galaxy” fabric. Please give it a feel and a look yourself.
