“Momentary Shape, Lyrics of Brightness”
Pouring rain changes into snow, piling up on the ground.
Then the snow melts, turning into fog and clouds.
And then, it turns into rain again…
Within much the same way, resin that melts when heat is applied differs in its beauty and momentary shape every time it is reformed. “Momentary Shape, Lyrics of Brightness” is a work that expresses the beauty and warmth inherent to plastic, and was designed and produced by Honda Plus, a plastic forming company that makes products such as PET bottles, and supervised by artist Mika Aoki.
Using PET resin that is generally used for mass production in molds, Honda Plus invented the “ame” (rain) crafting technique as a new type of manufacturing.
This work was hand-made with PET materials, and features many positive words pouring down like rain, including “happy,” “active,” “merry” and “enjoy.” We have added special words for ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE to this work, and hope it brings you all abundant happiness.

PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE launched "PLEATS PLEASE BAKERY" series to celebrate its 20th anniversary of the brand's inauguration.

Mixing traditional materials and techniques, and combining Japanese designs and Indian craftsmanship, HaaT continues to propose clothing and accessories that convey the warmth of the artisan’s hand and provide everlasting enjoyment.
The –lattice–, created by interior designer Hiroshi Seki as his expression of the HaaT concept by using wood from cedars thinned from the forest, is now installed in stores.
We will be offering a free gift with your purchase of HaaT items. Gift quantities are limited, and the offer is available while supplies last.

The items of the WORLD MAP series vividly express that all aspects of the world, such as people, animals, plants, nature, and buildings, live together on this earth with delicate paper cutouts by artist Julie Marabelle. This vivid and amusing WORLD MAP is now available as a print series item by PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE. In addition to dresses and cushions, which are the limited items for street-front stores, original goods by Ms. Marabelle is also available. There is also an exhibition of works expressing the world of her artworks during the campaign period. We look forward to your visit.
Julie Marabelle
Julie Marabelle is a French artist living in Paris. After graduating from an art school in Paris, she joined the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Upon graduating from the college, she became engaged in the styling of movies and plays for 14 years. After becoming a mother, she started her brand, “Famille Summerbelle,” together with her British husband. Using motifs such as cities throughout the world, she creates interior items and accessories, including posters, cushions, bags and wallpapers, that express her original world view in delicate cutout works. The book “Be Creative with Famille Summerbelle” (published by PAUMES) introduces her creative works and lifestyle.
We held a rakugo performance as a summer event today.

These bags were designed in collaboration with artist Kiyoshi Kuroda, and feature printed illustrations of flowers and butterflies. The patterns wrap around from the front to the back of the bag to present a single picture.

On August 4 (Sat), there will be a rakugo performance as a summer event at ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE/SEMBA. This event—titled “Let’s Go! Luck Go!”—features Katsura Beishi and Katsura Nijo, who are rakugo storytellers of the Katsura Beicho School. They will present stories related to the Semba area. We look forward to your visiting this fun event, where you can beat the summer heat.

Katsura Beishi
Beishi became a disciple of Katsura Tomaru in March 1994, and made his debut in June 1994 in “Someyacho Yose,” Kyoto. He won many awards, including the NHK Best New Rakugo Performer Award, the Encouraging Prize at the Naniwa Art Festival, and the New Performer Award at the Art Festival by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. He succeeded to the Katsura name, becoming Katsura Beishi IV in August 2010.
Katsura Nijo
Nijo became a disciple of Katsura Yoneji in July 1993. He made his debut at “Irregular Rakugo Performance by Katsura Yoneji” at Taiyuji Temple in September 1993.
